a new direction
So much has been happening.
So much has been on my heart.
For those who asked or wondered what we’ve been up to... this is for you.
Soon after we bought and renovated our camper, we sold our home and a good bit of our belongings.
(for more pictures of our rv reno click here)
We moved into the camper and were ready to hit the road to Maine. We first planned to leave for Maine May 15. Then things shifted.
A close family member received a cancer diagnosis and our world paused. Our trip was on pause and we stayed to serve in whatever way we could.
Somewhere along the way - as she had her surgery, came home and began healing - she started feeling herself again, but I did not.
My health plateaued, my heart was heavy and (total side note) my grandma (not the one with cancer) seemed to be less and less able to make the distinction between my mom and I.
If you know my family, you know my grandma is the sharpest 90 yr old gal out there and my mama has been gone for 13 years now, so this is a BIG deal in our world.
So naturally, it was a heavy 2 months.
And while I could sit and bore you with details, here’s a peek into where we landed:
1. Home: Our camper is finished and beautiful and we love her. Click here for the before and after. We plan to utilize her for what we intended to have her for as soon as mama (+ family) has a season of healing, rest and recoup, but our hands are open to whatever is ahead. *update: we decided to close this seasons door and sold the rv to a friend
2. Health: I have appts coming up and looking forward to getting answers. I look forward to feeling like my old self (or better) again. Until then it’s veggies, evening walks, lotsa water and a ton of self care for me. *update: I committed to a few major life/diet changes and it’s changed my life
*our family member’s surgery went wonderfully and she’s been doing fantastic. They “got it all” and she’s “cancer free!!!”. SUCH an answer to prayer.
3. Travel: We are staying put for the rest of 2018 other than Danny heading to China with @wecarrykevan and a couple of family events we are excited to be a part of. *update: Danny stayed home for this trip to care for me and our children and we haven’t done any traveling yet
As for the rest, we’re just thankful!
Thankful the sun is shining, we are all are smiling and the best is yet to come!
Thankful for a kind and gracious Father who loves us and cares for us in every season.
Just thankful!
